Najib's administration will reflect the people's aspirations

It has been more than a year that I have not updated this blog as I have been a regular blogger to the other blogger spots, ie. Malaysia Today, Malaysiakini, Malaysian Insider, Datuk Abdul Kadir Jasin's Scribe and Rocky's Bru. I have been blogging for years now, but I remain critical of my personal comments across the political divide. I am neither pro UMNO or BN as I dare to criticise some ministers or other political and social issues from the bottom of my heart. Being a grass root politicians behind the scene for more than 5 decades, I have not spared the political antics of both BN leaders as well as those from the opposition. However, I am privileged to walk along the corridor of power but I have not abused my position through my political connections with the former prime ministers and some other ministers.

Today, let me speak from my heart for the man whom I have secretly adored from the time he became the MB of Pahang. That charismatic politician whom I had "hero worshipped" is non other than Najib Tun Razak., our current prime minister who holds the helm of the government and the party in power. It's not easy to understand and love Najib especially when he is in deep thought and his mind is not easily readable. Najib is a great leader at the right time and I believe he will survive in times of crisis just like Tun Mahathir, the former prime minister. However, no political even how good, efficient and dynamic will be spared by his political enemies and critics, as politics is a game of perception. An excellent leader or prime minister will not survive if he has a weak team and playing the wrong game in protecting their own interest at the expense of leader's capability and popularity.

In less than 60 days of Najib's leadership, both in UMNO and the government, he had embarked on some radical changes in UMNO and the government in line with the people's aspiration for a clean and efficient governance. Called it reforms or liberalisations, Najib has steered Malaysia into the next level of our achievement towards the realisation of our vision 2020. Najib is not a authoritarian leader but he values the integrity of a few trusted aides that had been helping him behind the scene. That's the true quality of a great leader, who trusts a few but listens to all Malaysians who will help him to achieve his goals in reshaping Malaysia into a dynamic nation.

I am most attracted to his 1Malaysia concept that had leapfrog into action and vibrates throughout the mind and heart of the people. The ultimate objective of 1Malaysia is to unite the people across the ethnic barrier into a bonded nation full of diversity. IMalaysia concept can only be achieved provided no Malaysians will be marginalised and to be given equal opportunities on merits. Malays and bumiputras after more than 51 years of our independence, should no longer be subsidised but instead strive hard in order to succeed in this competitive world of globalisation.

I know of many Malays who had suceeded overseas without any special privileges or subsidies and their children have taken over their business empire. These are hard working and practical Malays who will serve as role models to the majority of Malays and bumiputras in this blessed country, where we help each other in time of difficulties and calamities.

The true spirit of a Malaysian identity is achievable if only we call ourselves "Malaysians" and not a Malay, Chinese, Indian or Iban. If Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and Filippinos can identify themselves as one nationality, why can't Malaysians do the same and get rid of racialism?

Prime Minister Najib had instituted the KPIs in the GLCs and now extended to the cabinet Ministers and senior officers of the Ministries, will serve as a punitive measure for all elected or appointed representatives of the adminstration to pull up their socks and buck up or be removed from office. A top notch prime minister must have a exemplary administrative capable team to implement his vision and provide the best delivery system to the people. The success or failure of the Najib administration will only be translated through the final outcome of the 13th general election.

In the meantime, let us wait and give our trust and confidence to Najib and his cabinet without an aspersion and wild accusations against our leaders, especially the prime minister himself who had been implicated from corruptions to the altantuya murder case. A man is never pronounce guilty until proven in the court of law. That's the principle of law and order in a democratic nation as guaranteed by the Federal Constitution.

THE CURRENT WEAK POLITICAL LEADERSHIP IS CRACKING AND ANWAR COULD BE THE NEXT PM

The nation is now facing heaps of political and economic challenges during the last 2 years created by our elected politicians of the new parliamentary session. The situation became extremely unpredictable as our politicians on both sides of the horizon the nation a political confusion, both in Parliament as well as outside the highest institution with demonstrations and protests, in every other month by both the pro-government and anti-government movements.

The shocking results of the 12th General Election on 8th March, 2008 had taken all loving Malaysians, especially pro-government politicians including Ministers, members of the administration, civil servants as well as the grass-root political members and supporters amongst the component party of Barisan Nasional to a new political belief, having lost the invaluable state of Perak, Kedah, Penang and Selangor. As for Kelantan, it was a foregone conclusion that Barisan Nasional will ever recapture Kelantan. I believe until today, the Malays have not come to term with the loss of the Federated Malay States which had been part of the nation's history and political liberation from the colonial power.

It is therefore not surprising that many senior veteran UMNO politicians, including Tun Dr Mahathir, Tengku Razaleigh, Tan Sri Sanusi and many other young and upcoming UMNO leaders have been putting pressure for PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to resign and handover the UMNO leadership and premiership to Najib, the designate successor in accordance to UMNO tradition. Pak Lah is sticking to his political belief and principle and will not resign, with the assurance that Najib will succeed him in the leadership transition process, but God knows when! The UMNO succession is a political guessing game, either before the UMNO General Assembly inDecember, early 2009, 2010 or after the 13th General Election.(Don't forget that 13 is the lucky or "ONG"number forPak Lah).

Having said all the above political analysis that had been the favorite topic for politicians and non-politicians alike, the nation is confronted by another "national political drama" created by Anwar Ibrahim PKR Production. The nation is once again faced with the current "sodomised episode" whereby Saiful, Anwar's own aide lodged a police report that he had been sodomised by Anwar many times in Malaysia as well as when they were overseas.

It appears fishy, when Anwar had cast the blame in the name of another "conspiracy"by the government and Barisan Nasional in an attempt to end his political career, as Anwar honestly believe that he and his PKR political sleeping partners, PAS and DAP is getting stronger and powerful by the day and eventually will overthrow the BN government under the current weak leadership of Pak Lah and company. I recalled that Pak Lah had mentioned in one of his press conference that Anwar is the "prime minister in waiting". Maybe Anwar is being egotistic in response to Pak Lah's remark, which had spurred him to create his own conspiracy and blamed the BN government and that Saiful was planted to "sodomise"him and check his political power surge. In the same scribe for Act Two, Anwar is seeing his own shadow and that his life has been threatened and that he maybe subject to a possible political inspired assassination as reported to him by his CIA friends. We also recalled that Act One was the sworn affidavit by RPK against Najib and his wife Rosmah.

In conclusion, I urge the government to check-mate Anwar's dramatic Act Three before it is too late or hot potato for the government to handle or continue to engage him in his musical chair and public roadshows nationwide, in order to win the people's sympathy. Let us forget about the alleged "sodomy scene", as there will not be absolute evidence to prosecute Anwar under the present judiciary system. Malaysia is considered a developed nation and we have to move on with the global norms of civilisation, that the act of sodomisation is not a crime, not withstanding the virtue of our nation's Islamisation and practice. The police should be directed to close the case due to insufficient hard evidence. Let Anwar go on the roller coaster and derail his dramatic PKR production.

In terms of providing security gurantee as demanded by Anwar, the government should assign security details for him, including the assignment of UTK security officers, afterall Anwar, the former DPM is the"prime minister in-waiting". Anwar should be accorded the same security details equal to the PM and his Deputy. There is nothing to lose but more to gain in terms of our political strategy. To Pak Lah, Najib and Syed Hamid, it's not a big deal and neither a huge financial burden to the government, so please accede to Anwar's request ASAP.
